1. Introduction and Acceptance
POVL ("Application", "Service") is a personality analysis and social discovery application developed and operated by Barış Altın ("Company", "we", "us", "our"). These Terms of Service ("Terms", "Agreement") constitute a legally binding agreement between you and us when you download, install, or use the POVL application.
By using the Application, you represent that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms. If you do not accept these Terms, please do not use the Application.

POVL is not a medical device.
The archetypes, personality analyses, and results within the Application are intended solely for entertainment, social interaction, and personal awareness purposes. These results do not substitute for professional psychological counseling, clinical diagnosis, treatment, or medical advice.
Important: You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Application. If you are under 13, you may not use the Application. Users between 13 and 18 years of age may use the Application with the consent of a legal guardian or custodian.
2. Definitions
- "User" / "You": Any natural person who downloads, installs, or uses the Application.
- "Content": Any text, image, analysis result, evaluation, and other material created, shared, or displayed within the Application.
- "User Content": Personality analyses, ratings, profile information, comments, and other data created or uploaded by Users.
- "Analysis": A report generated based on a User's evaluation of a person according to specific personality traits, relying on the User's own subjective opinions, individual observations, and personal judgments, without any claim of certainty or scientific validity.
- "Circle": The social connection network among Users.
- "Credit": A virtual unit acquired through in-app purchases and used to create analyses.
3. Service Description
3.1 Application Function
POVL is a platform that enables Users to evaluate people they know based on specific personality traits, create personality analysis reports, and share these analyses with other Users. The Application includes the following core features:
- Personality Analysis: Users can create analysis reports by rating people they know on predetermined traits.
- Circle: Users can establish social connections by adding each other via friend codes.
- Mutual Analysis: Users within the same Circle can analyze each other mutually.
- Transparent Analysis: A User can analyze another User and directly share the results.
- Partner Matching: Users can analyze each other mutually via invitation codes.
- Discovery: Enriching the profiles of analyzed individuals through daily questions.
- Achievement System: An achievement badge system based on analysis and usage habits.
3.2 Algorithmic Analysis Systems (Technical Tool Role)
POVL uses proprietary algorithmic pattern recognition systems to visualize and interpret User inputs. In this regard, the Company's role is solely that of a "technical tool provider" and "hosting provider."
- Reflection Principle: Reports generated by the algorithm are a technical reflection of the data entered by the User. The algorithm places the User's subjective ratings into predetermined templates.
- Content Ownership: The content and meaning expressed by analysis results are the responsibility of the User who entered the data. The Company is not the "author" or "intellectual owner" of these results; it merely provides a technical format.
- Entertainment Purpose: All analysis results generated by algorithmic systems are intended for entertainment and personal development purposes; they do not constitute scientific, medical, or psychological diagnoses.
- Automated Processing: All processes are carried out entirely by automated software systems without human intervention. Therefore, the results are a mathematical processing of the entered data, rather than an objective human judgment.
3.3 Service Changes
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the Application's features, functions, and content with or without prior notice. We shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising from such changes.
4. Account Creation and Security
4.1 Account Creation
POVL is a platform built upon social interaction and personalized analyses. Without registering, Users can only access the Application's introductory screens and a limited analysis interface. However, account creation is a technical necessity for processing entered data, generating analysis reports, saving results, and using all other Application features (discovery, circle, profile, etc.). You agree to provide accurate and current information during registration.
4.2 Account Security
You are responsible for the security of your account. You will be held responsible for all activities conducted through your account. If you notice unauthorized access to your account, you must immediately notify us.
4.3 Single Account Policy
Each User may create only one account. Attempts to abuse welcome bonuses or other promotions by creating multiple accounts may result in account suspension or permanent closure.
5. User Content and Responsibilities
5.1 User Content Ownership and Nature
The intellectual property rights of the User Content you create (analyses, ratings, profile information) belong to you. However, by using the Application, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive, transferable, and sublicensable license to process, store, and display this content for the purpose of providing Application services.
Profiles and Naming: Profiles created and names entered within the Application are for the User's personal use, organizing their records, and symbolic representation. POVL does not verify, guarantee, or investigate whether the entered names correspond to real persons. These profiles are considered representations (avatars) in the User's subjective perception.
5.2 Content Rules
You agree to refrain from the following behaviors when using the Application:
- Insult and Bullying: Creating content that is insulting, threatening, harassing, bullying, or discriminatory towards other Users or third parties.
- Misleading Information: Impersonating another person, creating fake profiles, or intentionally sharing misleading analyses.
- Inappropriate Content: Creating or sharing obscene, pornographic, violent, or illegal content.
- Spam and Abuse: Using automated tools to create bulk analyses, exploiting system vulnerabilities, or disrupting other Users' experience.
- Privacy Violation: Sharing or disclosing other people's personal information without permission.
- Intellectual Property Infringement: Sharing content that infringes upon copyrights, trademarks, or other intellectual property rights.
5.3 Content Moderation and Removal
While we are not obligated to pre-screen User Content, we reserve the right to remove or restrict access to content that violates these Terms or applicable laws without prior notice.
5.4 Content Reporting and Response
Users may report content they find inappropriate or offensive through the in-app reporting mechanism. All reports are reviewed by our moderation team and reported objectionable content is removed within 24 hours. Users who violate the rules will have their accounts suspended or permanently blocked.
5.5 Third-Party Data and Friend Analyses
Due to the core functionality of the Application, Users may enter data about and create analyses of third parties (friends, acquaintances, family members, etc.). In this regard:
- All Responsibility Lies with the User: Users assume all legal and criminal responsibility for sharing the data and creating analyses of third parties whose names or characteristics they enter for analysis purposes.
- Consent and Legal Compliance: When entering data about and analyzing another natural person, the User represents and warrants that they are not violating that person's privacy rights, that they have obtained consent/permission from the relevant person where required, and that this activity complies with applicable laws (KVKK, GDPR, etc.).
- Subjective Opinion: The User acknowledges that the data they enter (characteristics of the analyzed person) are not "definitive and objective facts" about that person but are entirely their own "subjective opinions, personal judgments, and estimations," and that the responsibility for this data belongs to them.
- Third-Party Requests: If a third party who has been analyzed requests the deletion of their data or the removal of the analysis, the Company reserves the right to fulfill this request, and the User may not make any claims against the Company as a result.
6. Blocking and Reporting
6.1 Blocking
Users can completely terminate mutual interaction by blocking other Users. In case of blocking:
- The blocked User cannot access your profile and analyses.
- You also cannot access the blocked User's profile and analyses.
- The existing Circle connection is automatically terminated.
6.2 Reporting
Users may report content or Users for the following reasons:
- Harassment, bullying, or disturbing analysis results
- Fake accounts, impersonation, or inappropriate profile photos
- Other inappropriate behaviors
All reports are processed confidentially, and the identity of the reporting User is not disclosed to the reported User.
7. In-App Purchases and Credits
7.1 Credit System
POVL uses a credit system for creating analyses. Credits:
- Can be acquired through in-app purchases.
- Can be earned through welcome bonuses, daily streak bonuses, or other promotions.
- Are Virtual Value: Non-refundable, non-convertible to cash, and have no real currency equivalent.
- Cannot be transferred to other Users.
7.2 Purchases
In-app purchases are processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and are subject to the respective platform's payment terms.
7.3 Refund Policy and Right of Withdrawal Exception
- Platform Rules: Refund requests for in-app purchases must be made through the relevant platform (Apple App Store or Google Play Store) where the transaction was processed. The Company does not have the authority to issue direct refunds.
- Right of Withdrawal Exception: Purchased "Credits" and "Analysis Reports" created with these credits are digital content of intangible nature. Pursuant to the Turkish Distance Contracts Regulation (Article 15/ğ) and international consumer laws; THE RIGHT OF WITHDRAWAL DOES NOT APPLY to services performed immediately in electronic media and intangible goods delivered immediately to the consumer. The User acknowledges that the digital content (credit) is assigned to their account or the report is generated at the moment they confirm the purchase, and that they thereby waive their right of withdrawal.
7.4 Price Changes
We reserve the right to change the prices of credit packages with prior notice. Price changes do not affect credits purchased before the date of the change.
7.5 Subscriptions and Auto-Renewal
The Application may offer subscription options (Monthly/Annual Premium Membership) in addition to one-time credit packages.
- Auto-Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current subscription period.
- Payment: The renewal fee is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Cancellation and Management: You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your device's "Settings > Apple ID / Google Account > Subscriptions" menu. Cancellation cannot be performed within the Application or directly by us.
- Free Trial: If applicable, any unused portion of a free trial period is forfeited when the User purchases a subscription.
8. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability
8.1 "As-Is" Provision
The Service is provided on an "AS-IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. The Company does not warrant that the Application will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or will achieve any particular result. The Company shall not be liable for server outages, data losses, or situations arising from cyber attacks.
8.2 Entertainment and Social Interaction Purpose
POVL is not a clinical psychology tool or a medical diagnostic platform; it is an entertainment and socialization tool that centers on human curiosity about relationships and social interaction. The analyses, scores, and archetypes produced by the Application are a social "character statistic" or "interaction simulation" that gamifies Users' subjective observations about each other.
The Company does not guarantee that this content:
- Constitutes a scientific psychological diagnosis or absolute truth,
- Reflects one's personality inventory with 100% accuracy.
These results are generated for the purpose of creating an enjoyable conversation atmosphere among friend groups or Users, satisfying curiosity, and facilitating discussions about social relationships. Using this data to make life-altering decisions (marriage, firing someone, ending a relationship, etc.) is contrary to the intended purpose of the Application, and all responsibility for such actions lies with you.
9. Intellectual Property
9.1 Application Rights
The POVL application, its design, logos, graphics, interfaces, source code, algorithms, and all related intellectual property rights belong to Barış Altın and are protected by Turkish and international intellectual property laws.
9.2 Limited License
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to use the Application for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.
9.3 Prohibitions
The following activities are strictly prohibited:
- Copying, modifying, or creating derivative works of the Application.
- Reverse engineering, decompiling, or disassembling the Application.
- Using, renting, or selling any part of the Application for commercial purposes.
- Circumventing or disabling the Application's security measures.
10. Limitation of Liability (Additional Provisions)
10.1 Liability Limitation
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, under no circumstances shall Barış Altın be liable for any loss of profits, loss of data, loss of business, loss of reputation, or any indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages.
10.2 Total Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Company's total financial liability to you, for any reason whatsoever (contract, tort, etc.), is limited to the total amount you have paid for the Application in the last 12 months (if any). If you have not made any payment, the Company's liability is materially zero.
11. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Barış Altın and its business partners from and against any and all claims, lawsuits, damages, losses, and expenses (including attorneys' fees) arising out of your use of the Application, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any third-party rights.
12. Account Suspension and Termination
12.1 Termination by You
You may permanently delete your account at any time through the Profile menu within the Application. Account deletion is irreversible, and all your data will be permanently deleted.
12.2 Termination by Us
We may suspend or permanently close your account with or without prior notice in the following circumstances:
- Violation of these Terms.
- Engaging in illegal activities.
- Endangering the safety of other Users.
- Abusing the Application (fake accounts, spam, manipulation, etc.).
12.3 Consequences of Termination
Upon closure of your account:
- Unused credits are non-refundable.
- Content you have created will be deleted.
- Your Circle connections will be terminated.
- Your account data will be deleted within a reasonable period, subject to our legal obligations.
13. Third-Party Services
13.1 Platform Dependencies
The Application uses the following third-party services:
- Supabase: Database, authentication, and real-time services.
- Google Sign-In / Apple Sign-In: Authentication.
- Expo Push Notifications: Notification services.
These third-party services have their own terms of use and privacy policies. These third-party services are independent data controllers that process your data according to their own privacy policies. The Company shall not be held directly liable for the technical failures, data breaches, or policy changes of these services. However, we commit to providing reasonable technical support for the resolution of any issues encountered.
13.2 Links
The Application may contain links to third-party websites or services. These links are provided solely for convenience, and we are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of these sites.
14. Dispute Resolution
14.1 Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and shall be construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Turkey.
14.2 Jurisdiction
The Istanbul Courts and Execution Offices shall have jurisdiction over all disputes arising from or related to these Terms.
14.3 Amicable Resolution
In the event of any dispute, the parties shall first seek an amicable resolution. Users may submit their complaints and suggestions to hello@povl.app.
15. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. In the event of significant changes:
- We will send an in-app notification.
- We will specify the effective date of the updated Terms.
- Your continued use of the Application after the changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

16. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, such provision shall be enforced to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
17. No Waiver
Our failure to enforce any provision or right under these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of such provision or right.
18. Assignment
You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms without any restriction.
19. Force Majeure
No liability shall be accepted in the event of disruption or cessation of the Service due to causes beyond our control (natural disasters, war, terrorism, pandemics, internet outages, legal regulations, etc.).
20. Apple and Google Specific Provisions
20.1 Apple App Store
The following additional terms apply to the Application downloaded through the Apple App Store:
- These Terms are entered into between you and Barış Altın, and Apple Inc. is not a party to these Terms.
- Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support services for the Application.
- In the event that the Application fails to meet any warranty condition, you may notify Apple and request a refund of the purchase price. Apple's liability is limited to this refund.
- Apple is not responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement, or discharge of any third-party intellectual property infringement claims.
- Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and, upon acceptance, have the right to enforce these Terms against you.
- You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. government embargo or on the "state sponsors of terrorism" list (US Legal Compliance).
20.2 Google Play Store
For the Application downloaded through the Google Play Store:
- Google LLC is not a party to these Terms.
- Google Play Store's terms of service additionally apply.
- Google assumes no responsibility for the content or operation of the Application.

22. Entirety
